Announcer – Matt West
Born and raised in northeast Oklahoma, Matt West has always been fascinated with the cowboy lifestyle. Growing up in a rural area, Matt was exposed to the rodeo world at an early age and therefore began taking in knowledge that would later on prove to be quite useful in his chosen career.
After receiving a degree in agriculture from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M and then attending Oklahoma State University, it was a dare that put Matt behind the microphone for the very first time. Since that time he has made a career out of announcing professionally and with his unique style and the blessings of some of the industry’s top professionals, he continues climbing the ladder of success. Mild-mannered and some would say shy outside the arena, put a microphone in his hand and he becomes transformed. With a unique enthusiasm, West believes in keeping fans not only informed but also in doing whatever it takes to keep them entertained.
It’s his faith and family support that West credits the most for his quick success but notes that it’s the extended “rodeo family” and new friends he has the opportunity to meet along the way that keep him traveling and doing what he loves to do.
When not on the rodeo trail this 25 year old makes his home in Delaware, OK where he has began his own bucking bull operation. West is a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and his voice has also been heard at the PBR Built Ford Tough Series.
